Bhadrak Autonomous College is a Government funded college. UGC is also funding the college for development activities.


It is linked to all parts of the country by NH No.5 and East Coast Railways.

UNDER-GRADUATE PROGRAMMES

The following subjects are available for UG students in different streams in Bhadrak Autonomous College for the session 2010-2011.

3 Year Degree Course in Science:(Sanctioned Strength 256)

Honours-wise strength are as follows:

Physics 48
Chemistry 48
Mathematics 48
Computer Science 32
Botany 40
Zoology 40

A candidate shall choose 2 subjects (one Hons. and one Pass) from one of the following groups.

Group -I: 1. Physics, 2. Chemistry, 3. Mathematics, 4. Computer Science (only as Hons. subject), 5. Statistics (only as Pass subject).

Group-II: 1. Botany, 2. Zoology, 3. Chemistry (only as Pass subject), 4. Food Science & Quality Control (only as Pass subject).

A student with Life Science (Botany/Zoology) subject as Pass or Hons. shall take one Minor Elective paper - Mathematics and Statistics. (without practical)

A student with Physical Science (Phy./ Chem./ Math./ Comp. Sc.) subject as Pass or Hons. shall take one Minor Elective paper - Biology (without practical).

All Science students shall choose one of the following subjects as Major Elective (without practical).

(a) Polymer Science, (b) Industrial Chemistry, (c) Physics, (d) Chemistry, (e) Mathematics, (f) Statistics, (g) Botany, (h) Zoology provided that a student with anyone of the subjects like Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Botany/ Zoology as Hons. or Pass subject shall not be allowed to offer corresponding subject as major elective.

In addition to Hons., Minor elective and Major elective, a student has to offer English, M.I. L. (Or/AE/ Hn/Ur), Environmental Studies and Indian Society & Culture as compulsory subjects.

Notes:

(i) No student shall be allowed to take Mathematics or any subject in which there is practical component if he/she did not pass in that subject in the HS/Eqvt. examination except Computer Science Hons. Environmental Studies, Food Sc. etc.

(ii) No student shall be allowed to take Statistics if he/she has not passed in either Statistics or Math­ematics in HS/Eqvt. Examination.

(iii) No student shall be allowed to take Food Science & Quality Control if he/she has not passed in Biology in HS/Eqvt. Examination. A student will be allowed to take Food Science & Quality Control only with Chemistry as Maior Elective.

(iv) Computer Science Hons. is allowed if he/she has passed HS/Eqvt. Examination with Mathematics.

Computer Sc. Hons. is a self-financing Course (Rs. 30,000.00 for 3 years). A student admitted to this course shall have to complete it. If he/she discontinues the course in the middle, he/she has to pay the balance course fee.

A student shall choose one of the above mentioned subjects as Hons.

A student shall choose two elective subjects (Elective - A and Elective - B) from among the following subjects.

Indian Polity, Indian Economy, Landmarks in Indian History, Mathematics, Statistics, Home Science, Psychology, Education, Sanskrit, Philosophy, Sociology and Oriya.

Note: Provided that a student offering Pol.Sc., Economics, History, Math" Statistics, Home Science, Psy­chology, Education, Sanskrit, Philosophy, Sociology and Oriya as Hons. subject shall not be all-owed" to take Indian Polity, Indian Economy, landmarks in Indian History, Math" Statistics, H.Sc., Psychol­ogy, Education, Sanskrit, Philosophy, Soc. and Oriya" respectively as elective subjects.

In addition to Hons, and Elective subjects, a student has to offer English, M.LL. (Or/AE/Hn/Ur), Indian Society and Culture and Environmental Studies as compulsory subjects.

Note! :
(a) No student shall be allowed to take Math. or any other subjects with practical components i(he/she has not passed in that subject in HS/Eqvt. Examination except Edn/Psy.

(b) No student shall be allowed to take Statistics If he/she has not passed in either Math/Stat in HS/Eqvt. . Examination.
